He’s been a few months on my “is it finished/painting in progress shelf”.
In a bid to get the balance between the almost there and the almost not portrait, he’s sat patiently waiting for me to just make up my mind. Does he answer the question I originally asked or does he ask a question I have to answer? That’s my private conversation with him. Anyway, Heath as I addressed him in our time together on the easel, is quite finished.
I really enjoyed experimenting with a new colour palette on this one. Some earthy tones offset by quite a vibrant lilac atmosphere. It gives his face a sort of abstracted landscaped effect.
